Innovative Ideen, die nicht auf die Bed\u00fcrfnisse des Marktes eingehen, sind oft nutzlos. Daher muss ein PM in st\u00e4ndigem Kontakt mit Kunden und potenziellen Kunden stehen, um deren Bed\u00fcrfnisse zu verstehen. Auf stark fragmentierten M\u00e4rkten verbringen PMs in der Regel die meiste Zeit damit, ihre Konkurrenten zu imitieren, und verpassen so die Chance, Innovationen zu entwickeln.<\/p>\r\n<p>PMs m\u00fcssen ihr Produkt und dessen Lebenszyklus genau \u00fcberwachen. Dies f\u00fchrt zu einem redundanten Produkt und senkt die Wechselkosten f\u00fcr die Kunden.<\/p>\r\n<p>Mit diesen beiden Strategien wird die zentrale Rolle der PMs sehr deutlich, denn sie m\u00fcssen Merkmale oder Produkte entwickeln, die sich deutlich von denen ihrer Konkurrenten unterscheiden. In einem gro\u00dfen Unternehmen wird dies zu zufriedenen Kunden oder neuen Kunden f\u00fchren, was wiederum Umsatz- und Gewinnsteigerungen zur Folge haben wird.
